We are so excited to share another amazing year with our students, teachers, staff and community.

Cordley Parent Teacher Association’s (PTA) key goal is to raise funds to support the achievement of school goals, to promote the general welfare of our students and school community, and to host a range of activities and events that create opportunities for fun and connection.

 

The Cordley PTA:

 

Invests in Students with essential learning materials, unforgettable, affordable experiences, and support for those facing food insecurity.

 

Provides Families with holiday support and a strong sense of community.

 

Celebrates our Teachers and Staff with essential classroom resources and well-deserved appreciation.

 

Enhances Our School with improved facilities and grounds for a thriving learning environment.

Our PTA Meets 2nd Tuesday of each month (September– May) from 6:30PM-7:30PM in the Cordley Library. All are invited to attend. Childcare Provided.

Cordley Elementary is a Title I school in the heart of Lawrence, KS with 50-60% of our 350+ students qualifying for free or reduced-price lunch. Our kindergarten to 5th grade students include a rich diversity of Indigenous nations and cultures from around the world. Our students speak 20+ different languages at home and receive support through our ESOL program.

 

We rely on donations from local businesses, community organizations, neighbors and Cordley families. Please consider:

 

  • Make a personal donation to our general fund, or one of our targeted efforts throughout the year

  • Have your company match your donation

  • Help the PTA fundraising committee solicit a donation from your place of work

  • Ask family members to support your child through a donation to the PTA

Your donation is impactful! Last year, the Cordley PTA:

  • Direct Student Support : $17,775 invested in holiday gift cards for Cordley families in need of a boost, essential learning materials, and relief for families in need of subsidized meals.

  • Classroom Resources : $4,788 provided for classroom resources to enhance student learning.

  • Memorable Experiences : $2,859 funded unforgettable events for students and families.

  • School Improvement : $1,619 dedicated to enhancing our school grounds and facilities.

  • Teacher Appreciation : $4,513 expressed gratitude to our dedicated teachers and staff.

  • Outreach and Communication : $2,894 covered general PTA administrative expenses.

 

Your PTA in Action: Thanks to the tireless efforts of our dedicated volunteers, last year we raised nearly $41,500 to support our students and school!!!
